RAYMOND - The Pacific County Farm Forestry Association will hold a meeting beginning at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the PUD meeting room in Raymond.

If you own timberland in Pacific County this program will be of interest to you. Bob Falkner with the Washington Tree Farm Program will be discussing certification through the American Tree Farm System. He will bring a simple management plan outline. If attendees bring basic maps and details about their tree farms, they will receive help in producing a management plan or updating an old plan.

A management plan is necessary to become certified or to continue certification with the American Tree Farm System. Some mills require certification to purchase logs. The county often wants a management plan to allow timberland designation.

Bruce Walker, Pacific County assessor, will also be on hand to talk about designated timberland classification and changing classifications.
