OCEAN?PARK The students from Mrs. Jacobsens sixth grade class got a glimpse of the glamour that awaits them on future prom nights last Friday as they delighted in their first formal dance.
The students dressed the part, whether it was a ball gown or dress, a button shirt or a suit. They were photographed under an archway and were served a three-course meal, prepared by parents and staff, before hitting the dance floor or gym floor as it were.
And surprisingly enough, once the music got started, so did the intermingling between the boys and the girls, as they danced together and had a great time.
Thanks to all the great parents who helped make the dance possible, they did it all from decorating, to cooking the meal, to helping serve and even got out on the dance floor, said Jacobsen. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child. We are lucky to live in such a great village!
