Flood warning issued for Grays River

Here are the 24-hour rain totals up to 10 a.m. Thursday for the Lower Columbia/Willapa Bay region. There's lots more still coming down, with extensive ponding in Pacific and Clatsop counties. A flood warning is in effect for the Grays River in Western Wahkiakum County.

LONG BEACH — The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a flood warning for the Grays River near Rosburg in Wahkiakum County.

The flood-prone river was running at 11.71 feet at about 3 p.m. Thursday. The river is considered to be in a minor flood at or above 12 feet. The Grays is currently expected to crest at 13.26 feet overnight between Thursday and Friday, and to be out of flood status at about 3 p.m. Friday.

Remember when driving near flooded areas: Turn around, don`t drown. Don`t drive into flooded areas.

Avoid walking near riverbanks during high water.
