ILWACO - When flipping through the scribbled pages of the guest book, one can quickly comprehend the large appreciation for the Ilwaco Heritage Museum's detailed exhibits, coastal antiquity and historic values. Individuals and families from not only across the Pacific Northwest, but also from around the world have made stops at this "best kept secret" to learn about the history of south Pacific County and the people behind it.
But as many Peninsula residents may already know, the popular building also serves as a rented meeting place for several area groups, such as Ilwaco City Council, the planning commission, the Ilwaco Merchants Association and more. As such a well-utilized place, it is understandable that areas of the museum are becoming worn and in need of repairs.
