PORT OF ILWACO — Port of Ilwaco Manager Jim Neva announced last week that Guy Glenn Jr. has been selected as the port’s financial director. The position became available last month after the resignation of Tracy Lofstrom.

Glenn, a lifelong resident of the Peninsula, graduated from Colorado State University and was employed at Raymond Federal Bank as a loan officer and, for five years, as a credit analyst with ShoreBank Pacific.

“I’m looking forward to helping enhance the port and the community,” he said of his new position.

Commissioner David Nichols said the port received 15 applications for the job and it was a tough choice. “They were all well-qualified,” he said, “but in the end, we hired Guy. He’s local and knows the community. He’s a heck of a nice guy and, given his experience, he’s the one we chose.”

The port’s next commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m.
