LONG BEACH — After 30 years of working in the restaurant industry, Anita Moe will introduce her own restaurant venture with free samples of homemade clam chowder at her grand opening event this Saturday in Long Beach.

Moe, who has worked in restaurants since she was 13, opened Anita’s Coastal Cafe on May 4.

“It’s what I love,” explains Moe, who worked for The Dunes for 23 years. “I love working with the people. I really enjoy seeing those people every day, it’s like family. It’s just what I love: spoiling people.”

Moe describes her menu as “comfort food” in the form of breakfast (served all day), lunch and dinner, including halibut fish and chips with homemade tarter sauce, homemade sausage gravy, fresh seafood soups made from scratch and daily lunch specials.

Located at 102 8th Street NW (formerly Seaswirl Paints), Anita’s Coastal Cafe is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Their phone number is 642-3500.
