WILLAPA VALLEY - Ida Heath, the treasurer of Willapa Valley Grange #527, is to receive a pin for 60 years of continuous Grange membership at the Sunday, Aug. 1 meeting.

Heath first joined 70 years ago, but during the Great Depression the growing family moved to a farm in the Willapa Valley and for a few years she did not rejoin a subordinate. Her oldest son Merne, the Grange overseer, will become a 60-year member within the year.

For this year only by special observance locally, Eleanor Roosevelt Day - which was established ten years ago by Grange resolution in the state of Washington and then at the National Grange Convention as the second Monday in August - will be moved forward one week for Ida Heath Day, honoring the Willapa Valley Grange's 98-year-old treasurer.

The Willapa Valley Grange meeting at the regular 2 p.m. time will as usual be preceded by a potluck at 1 p.m., and the public is especially invited to celebrate with Ida Heath and her family.
