PORTLAND, ORE. - Gwendolyn M. Casper, 52, died Sept. 25, 2005, in Portland. The daughter of Henry Flagar and Nancy Potts, she was born July 7, 1953, in Vancouver. She attended Vancouver area schools and graduated from Evergreen High School.
On April 19, 1983, she married Dennis D. Casper of Long Beach. The couple made their home in Oysterville, living there the past 28 years. Throughout her life Mrs. Casper's source of pride was as a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She also worked as a bartender and laundress at local motels. She really liked doing laundry.
She liked hot rods, square dancing, and playing video games. She loved her grandchildren and loved living on the Peninsula - always stating she never wanted to leave.
In addition to her husband Dennis, she is survived by a son, Bud Casper of Ocean Park; daughter Balinda Casper of Ocean Park; sisters, Henrietta Meredith of Camas, Fern Ham of Seattle, and Nancy Roylance of Ocean Park; a brother, Walter Flagar of Vancouver; her mother, Nancy Potts of Ocean Park; grandchildren, David Casper, Beau Morrow, Jennifer Casper and Christy Casper; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Brian Fink, sister Janet Anderson, and by her father Henry Flagar.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 9 at Ocean Park Community Church. A potluck will follow.
