Hamm held on $1 million bail

SOUTH BEND - Sherry Hamm, who is being questioned in the death of a Grayland man, is in Pacific County Jail under $1 million bail after Pacific County Superior Court Judge Michael Sullivan on Friday modified Hamm's pre-sentencing release on an unrelated assault charge. Hamm was on 24-hour house arrest.

Hamm, 59, of Grayland, is a suspect in the death of her boyfriend of 30 years, Ken Hutchison, 62. Hutchison's dismembered remains were found last week in a bag under a motor home in Grayland.

Hamm turned herself in at the Clark County Sheriff's Office in Vancouver where she was booked on the release violation and taken to Pacific County Jail.

Pacific County Chief Deputy Prosecutor David Bustamante said Hamm had been on 24-hour house arrest since a 2007 assault on Hutchison's brother. Pacific County revoked Hamm's pre-sentencing release "because she was supposed to be at the mobile home in Grayland and was not to leave it except to go to court, for appointments with her attorney and for medical appointments," Bustamante said.

Hamm's sentencing on the assault charge is scheduled for Friday in superior court.
