Helen Margaret McCluskey

ILWACO - Klipsan Beach resident Helen M. McCluskey, 83, died July 6, 2004, in Ilwaco. The daughter of Raymond and Eva (Lord) Grant, she was born in Helena, Mont., on July 13, 1920. She was a graduate of Helena High School and attended Washington State University.

In 1944 she married Leo J. Kottas and became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, residing in Helena for many years. Retirement took her to Mesa, Ariz., and four years ago she moved to the Peninsula, initially living in Ilwaco and then living at Golden Sands at Klipsan Beach.

Mrs. McCluskey was a member of the Episcopal church and member of the Order of Eastern Star. For a number of years she volunteered at St. Peter's Hospital in Helena. She was an accomplished ceramist and oil painter, avid bridge player, enjoyed rock hunting, collecting dolls, bears and antiques. She loved her family and enjoyed many friendships.

Survivors include daughter Wendi Peterson of Seaview; sons Kim Kottas of Missoula, Mont., Kevin Kottas and Scott Kottas both of Helena, Mont.; grandchildren Kasi, Kelly, Michael, Carrie, David, Kyle and Kasi Kameron Kottas.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 19, at the Methodist Church in Clancy, Mont. Local arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
