SEAVIEW - St. Peter's Episcopal Church is hosting the third annual Chinook Honoring Ceremony on June 24 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Peninsula Church Center, 5000 "N" Place in Seaview. The event is free and open to the public. There are three purposes for this gathering. The first is to recognize and honor the Chinook people, whose attempts to have federal recognition have been stymied so far. Participants will do that in the context of a meal and prayers. The second is to have an opportunity to hear from a representative of their elders. The third is to help them raise money for their efforts at recognition, so an offering will be taken for that purpose. Please bring non-perishable food for their food bank as well.
