ILWACO - At its first business networking event of the year, the Ilwaco Merchants Association (IMA) hosted the 2008 After Hours Bowling Extravaganza at Hilltop Bowl. The IMA extended an invitation to neighboring merchant groups, both on the Peninsula and in Astoria. More than 75 people, including several from Astoria, competed for an assortment of gifts and prizes, all donated by area merchants.

Don's Portside Café and Pizzeria, Hilltop Bowl, Ilwaco Market, Imperial Schooner, Port Bistro and Tuscany Café contributed food and beverages to round out the evening. In addition to door prizes, a selection of prizes were handed out in a variety of categories, including Best Score, Worst Score, Loudest Team and Most Gutter Balls.

The overall individual high score winner turned out to be Ilwaco's own mayor, Doug Hubbard, who received two free tickets to the upcoming 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' concert at the Liberty Theater, courtesy of New Northwest Broadcasters.
