John Perry hired to lead newspaper firm

LONG BEACH - A Puget Sound newspaper executive became chief operating officer of the East Oregonian Publishing Co. on June 1.

John Perry will succeed C.K. (Pat) Patterson, who is retiring after 20 years as the company's top manager. The East Oregonian Publishing Co. owns the Chinook Observer, the Daily Astorian, the East Oregonian, the Capital Press, the Wallowa County Chieftan and the Blue Mountain Eagle.
