LONG BEACH - Long Beach resident June Abby Finley, 95, died Nov. 13, 2002 in Longview. The daughter of pioneer Peninsula residents Adolph and Hannah (Jacobson) Bostrom, she was born in Long Beach on June 4, 1907. She attended Peninsula schools.

During her lifetime she lived in Washington, Portland, Saint Louis, Mo., Alaska, California and Arizona. She returned to Long Beach in 1995 to be near family. She had worked as a grocery clerk.

Mrs. Finley was a member of Unity Church of Portland. She enjoyed oil painting. Her real love was traveling and she had visited Europe as well as most of the United States. Her family will remember her as a unique lady with an independent spirit who dearly loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters Marilyn Davis of Longview and Barbara Pearl of Long Beach; sons Charles Fisher of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Phillip "Bud" Finley of Sacramento, Calif.; sister Nona Thrower of Portland; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Four brothers and three sisters died earlier.

At her request, there will be no service. Those wishing may make memorial donations to Alzheimer's Research in care of Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, PO Box 417, Long Beach, Washington 98631.
