LONGVIEW - Deep River resident Keith A. Olson, 65, died Oct. 11, 2004, in Longview. The son of Arthur and Frances (Brenner) Olson, he was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Longview. He grew up and attended school in the Rosburg-Deep River area of Wahkiakum County, graduating from Naselle High School, where he was active in sports.

Mr. Olson served in the U.S. Army from 1961 until 1967. Returning to the Rosburg area, he gil-netted on the Columbia River and then worked for many years in the logging industry as a driver and equipment operator for Weyerhaeuser and Jerry DeBriae until retirement after suffering a stroke. Hunting, fishing and clam digging were activities he enjoyed. He also enjoyed his family and friends.

He and Anita Sundberg were married June 6, 1964, in Rosburg. She died in June 1998. Survivors include daughters, Amy Genn of Rosburg and Vickie Olmstead of Naselle; sons, Loren Olson of Deep River and Steve Olson of Naselle; grandchildren, Briannan, Katie, Gary, Kyle and Bailey; and sister Colleen Smith of Bowling Green, Ohio.

At his request no service will be held. Memorials in his memory may be made to the Longview Community Hospice, 1036 11th St., Longview, Wash., 98632. Cremation arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
