ASTORIA - The National Motor Lifeboat School change of command was conducted at the Columbia River Maritime Museum on Sept. 20. New commander is Chief Warrant Officer Kenneth D. Stuber.

A native of Mill Valley, Calif., Chief Warrant Officer Stuber enlisted in the Coast Guard following graduation from Tamalpias High School in 1973. In 1993 he assumed command of U.S. Coast Guard Station Humboldt Bay, Calif., and followed that tour with subsequent command of U.S. Coast Guard Station Umpqua River, Ore. His most recent assignment has been as boatswain's mate assignment officer at Coast Guard Personnel Command in Washington, D.C.

Chief Warrant Officer Stuber is married to the former Joyce Elliot of Clarkston, Wash.
