ILWACO, Wash. - The tall ship Lady Washington's scheduled arrival Thursday at Ilwaco has been delayed until Sunday.

Foul weather and poor sailing conditions off the California coast forced the ship to seek shelter in Crescent City, Calif., where it is berthed. It will depart Thursday evening and is now scheduled to arrive at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria late Sunday.

Lady Washington's companion ship, Hawaiian Chieftain, arrived at the Port of Ilwaco earlier this week and she will remain in Ilwaco until Sunday, when it will rendezvous with Lady Washington at the museum.

Guests who purchased tickets for the Saturday Battle Sail in Ilwaco and the Monday Sunset Sail in Astoria are asked to call the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority office at (800) 200-5239 for information on their ticket status.

Hawaiian Chieftain will be available for walk-on tours as scheduled: today and Friday, 4 to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The vessel will also travel to Astoria Sunday as scheduled.
