LB School honors young authors

LONG BEACH - On Feb. 8, at the Long Beach Elementary School Eagle assembly, Mr. Carper presented the second quarter Young Author Awards. Each quarter the homeroom teachers will select one piece of writing from their class to be permanently on display in the Martha Murfin Library at the school.

This quarter's recipients are: Merideth Brown for "I Like My Pig," Rachel Glasson for "Do You Like a Horse?" Bailey Herbertson for "I Have a Beagle," Brooke Morgan for "When I Went to Idaho," Sunny Kemmer for "My Duck," McKenzie Lynn Mulinix for "Once Upon A Christmas," Lilyana Doupe' for "Bill The Terminator (In His Mind)," Caitlin Derrey for "Look To The North," Azalie Bahrt for "How I know My Parents Care About Me," Jessica Cook for "How to make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich (pb&j)," Quentin McQuade for "The Cave," Preston Clark for poetry, and James Schenk for "The Turtle's Shell."
