NASELLE - Brian Beaulaurier, a 2003 graduate of Naselle High School, is in Chile attending a Rescue Certification Class sponsored by Expediciones Chile, a business founded by Chris Spelius, 1984 U.S. Olympic Team kayaker.

Spelius invited Beaulaurier to attend the class. The whitewater and kayaker course is designed to help paddlers develop paddling skills and rescue and safety comprehension. Technical knowledge will be thoroughly reviewed in preparation for the instructor certification exam. The class takes place on the Futaleufu and Fuy Rivers. Beaulaurier left Nov. 29, and will return Dec. 30, then return to college winter quarter 2005 at Spokane Falls Community College. He is the son of Scott and Patti Beaulaurier of Naselle.
