ILWACO — Classes were canceled Monday at Ilwaco High School due to an unexpected power outage.

Although only the high school was impacted by the power outage, it also affected phone service at some other Ocean Beach School District facilities.

“As it turns out, when the power is out at the high school, it affects our phones,” Long Beach Elementary School Principal Todd Carper said in an email to parents. “Currently we are unable to call out and we are unable to receive phone calls. If you need to reach us today, please e-mail me or Sara Ryan at sara.ryan@oceanbeachschools.org. You can also e-mail your child’s teachers.”

Aside from IHS, other district facilities are operational.
