Lighthouse reopening

Barring unforeseen events, North Head Lighthouse — along with its grounds, bookstore and trails — will reopen to the public this Thursday, Aug. 22, according to Washington State Parks. The lighthouse, which is owned by Washington state, has undergone a remarkable renovation that includes for the first time making the site accessible to people using wheelchairs. A Discover Pass is required to park in the lighthouse’s lot. The park system has been experiencing technical difficulties with its on-site pass-purchase machines for a couple weeks, so it would be advisable to purchase one online or at an authorized dealer. See https://www.discoverpass.wa.gov for details. (However, people with official disabled parking permits are exempt from Discover Pass requirements in state parks.)
