Donations to the food bank are important this time of year, especially with the upcoming holidays. Thanksgiving is upon us, so if you have any extra “Thanksgiving” food, please think about donating to the food banks (cranberry sauce, boxed stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, etc.)
The food banks don’t take clothing items. Since it’s getting colder, you can donate clothes to All Seasons Kids Stuff in Chinook. There is also a coat rack in the mall next to the Long Beach Pharmacy that you can hang winter coats on. A big thank you to all the community members that have and continue to donate. Your contributions help greatly.
The Ocean Park Food Bank is looking for protein items, such as canned meats/tuna, peanut butter, etc. As well as pasta and cooking staples like flour, sugar, salt and pepper etc. Just another reminder that anything associated with Thanksgiving would be greatly appreciated. Hours have changed they will now be closing at 2:45 p.m.
The St. Vincent de Paul food bank have holiday hours and will be open the second and third Fridays of November and December. Any donations are greatly appreciated and are deductible.
