The 2021 general election is nearly upon us, believe it or not, and the Chinook Observer is seeking reader input about what issues they’d like to see the paper ask Long Beach or Ilwaco candidates about this fall.

This year’s Nov. 2 general election features a trio of contested local elections, with ballots being mailed out to voters on Oct. 15.

In Long Beach, Patrick Reddy and Karla Jensen are vying for the city council seat that was vacated this summer by Kevin Cline and is currently held by Natalie Hanson. Richard Vincent and George Coleman are running for the other open seat this year, currently held by Holli Kemmer. In Ilwaco, incumbent mayor Gary Forner is being challenged by the mayor he succeeded, Mike Cassinelli.

To offer input about what issues you’d like candidates to be asked about in the Observer’s questionnaires, please email editor@chinookobserver.com.
