Old Naselle EMS Fire Hall burned down

Naselle volunteer firefighters stood by to make certain their old fire hall was safety destroyed last week, in preparation for construction of a new facility in 2018.

NASELLE — Firemen from Pacific County Fire Protection District 4 looked on Dec. 2 as fire engulfed a building during the controlled burn of the EMS Fire Hall in Naselle.

After using the building to conduct several types of fire-suppression training exercises, Fire Chief Doug Sandell operated a loader — on loan from Naselle’s Harvey Johnson — to punch a hole in the roof. That hole created a draft, allowing the building to be quickly consumed by flames.
