Sailboat safely towed into Ilwaco

OCEAN PARK — The crew of a U.S. Coast Guard motor life boat from Station Cape Disappointment came to the rescue of a 44-foot sailboat in need of assistance seven nautical miles west of Ocean Park at about 5 a.m. Friday. “Thanks to the skilled crew of MLB 47248 the boat and two people on board were quickly and safely towed to Ilwaco,” Cape D personnel reported on Facebook. “While at quarters (and thanks to clear skies) the rest of us had a perfect view from our galley as the boats transited the channel by the station. Great work crew!”
