A new federal weather satellite now in place over the Eastern Pacific Ocean provides sharp, real-time color images of the North American West Coast and nearly the entire ocean. Known as GOES-W, the satellite officially becomes operational on Dec. 10. But its visible-light imagery is already available at https://tinyurl.com/GOES-W. Check it out! This image is from Tuesday morning. It is expected to further improve weather forecasting.
