ROSBURG — At about 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, members of Wahkiakum County Fire Protection District 3 responded to a one-car accident on State Route 4.
Arriving on the scene, they found a Honda Accord containing a driver and a passenger had left the road ending up in the ditch at the west end of Swensen’s Corner.
It took a combination of jaws and cutter and about 25 minutes of effort for the three first- responders to extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver was then transported by Medix ambulance and the passenger was transported by Wahkiakum County Fire District 3 ambulance to Columbia Medical Hospital in Astoria.
Both were reportedly released from the hospital later in the day.
The hair-pin corner between Rosburg and Naselle is an infamously hazardous spot.
