Visitors bureau honors Cathy Shaw

Cathy Shaw is the most recent volunteer honored by the Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau.

LONG BEACH — The Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau is pleased to honor Cathy Shaw as its Volunteer of the Month.

Shaw was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. She moved to the Peninsula in 1978 and worked in the medical field for almost 30 years. Cathy and her hard-working husband, Udell, have a blended family including Jaime, Marshall, Erin, Stephen and Tyler plus a beautiful baby granddaughter, Emillia. She also shares her life with three dogs and a noisy cat. Shaw enjoys reading, knitting, scrapbooking and gardening.

Shaw has “always wanted to be a concierge and has found the Visitors Bureau to be a perfect place to practice outstanding customer service,” a bureau press release said. “She enjoys meeting new visitors from all over the world and absolutely loves the camaraderie at the LBPVB and the bureau is pleased to have Cathy on their team!”

The Visitors Bureau is always looking for good people to join their team of ambassadors. Contact or call 642-2400 if interested.
