THE DALLES - A former owner of Pendleton Bottling Company, Lola Ruth Dixon, 76, of The Dalles, Ore., died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at her home.

Mrs. Dixon was born Nov. 2, 1926, in The Dalles, the only child of Hans and Agnes Adkisson Blaser. She grew up in The Dalles and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1943.

In September 1943, she married Robert "Dale" Dixon in Denver. While Mr. Dixon was in the Air Force, she worked for her parents at The Dalles Soda Works. In 1956, she and her husband bought the Pendleton Bottling Company and operated it until 1987. After selling the bottling company, they moved to the Washington Coast.

The Dixons each had pilot's licenses and flew up and down the West Coast. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Eastern Star, was a past Matron at The Dalles and was active with her sorority in Ocean Park.

She loved making floral arrangements for weddings and conventions, watching national and world ice skating competitions, her home at the beach, and gardening.

She is survived by several cousins and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Dixon.

At her request, no service will be held. Disposition was by cremation at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith Callaway Chapel in care of arrangements.
