LONG BEACH - Long Beach Elementary School recently completed their annual Associated Student Body (ASB) Food Drive. Students started collecting non-perishable items on Monday, Nov. 17 and ended their food drive on Nov. 24.

In that time a total of 1,742 food items were collected to be donated to Friends in Service to Him (FISH), a local charitable group that provides food to those in need.

This event was sponsored by the Long Beach Elementary School ASB and there were competitions among the upstairs and downstairs classes. The class from each group that brought in the most food items received an ice cream party sponsored by the ASB.

Mrs. Strom's 1st grade class won the downstairs competition with 321 items brought in and Mrs. Lewis' third and fourth grade class won the upstairs competition with 315 items brought in. Mrs. Marlatt and Mrs. Clarke are the ASB advisors.
