Long Beach's young authors are honored

LONG BEACH - On April 16, at the Long Beach Elementary School Eagle Assembly, Mr. Carper presented the third quarter Young Author Awards.

Each quarter the homeroom teachers select one piece of writing from their class to be permanently on display in the Martha Murfin Library at the school.

This quarter's recipients are: Rayne Breen for "What Pet to Get," Lauren Kelly for "How to Catch a Leprechaun," K'Lynn Busby for "When I was a Little Girl," Jake Ahlin for "Washington D.C.," Alexandrea Carper for "The Story of Mojo and the Alien," Marquee Wolfe for "The Watch," Noah Carper for "The Battle of the Labyrinth," Cheyenne Montgomery for the play, "The Ancient West," Allyson Wagner for "If I had a Pug Puppy, I Would ...," Brianna Baird for "What Makes Me Happy," Maria Aguilar for "Need for Pets," and Jazz Parks for his essay on "Students should be required to pass state tests in order to graduate from high school."
