3 stiffly beaten egg whites

½ teaspoon vanilla

¼ teaspoon almond extract

1 cup sugar

½ teaspoon baking powder

Fold these four ingredients into egg whites along with:

1 cup finely chopped dates

½ cup chopped pecans

12 finely crushed crackers

Spoon into a well-greased eight-inch pie plate. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Serve with whipped cream

I received this recipe from my late sister, Frances Vuylsteke.

I don't know how old the recipe is, but she was born in 1902.
