OCEAN PARK - A self-inflicted gunshot wound was reported at 11:30 p.m. in Ocean Park.

A man had allegedly shot himself in the head with a .38-caliber handgun. The bullet fragmented on impact and did not penetrate his skull, according to Pacific County Sheriff's Office Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Clark. The man was transported by helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center in Portland.

Clark said Tuesday the case is still under investigation.
