LONG BEACH - After two rounds of interviews, the Ocean Beach School District has found their man, according to superintendent Rainer Houser Tuesday morning. Marc Simmons has been named the new principal of Ilwaco High School.

"He's a very, very strong candidate in leadership skills, curiculum and technology," said Houser. "He'll be a great fit for the staff and the community."

Simmons will be moving from Vancouver, where he served this last school year as associate principal at Mountain View High School.

Simmons left that job before the end of the year, but according to Houser came on recomendation from the Evergreen School District Superintendent. Prior to that Simmons worked as an instructional coach in the Federal Way School District, where he also received his administrative internship and worked as a teacher.

Simmons will begin work as IHS principal next week.
