SQUAW VALLEY, CALIF. - Martin Alan Hall, 81, died Oct. 10, 2003 in Squaw Valley, Calif. The son of Martin Lee and Lula May (Goodrich) Hall, he was born Aug. 14, 1922 in Astoria, and attended local schools, graduating from Ilwaco High School. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Navy. He married Lula Mae Henderson on Nov. 6, 1947 in Kent.

From 1947-48 he worked at Boeing Company, then from 1948 to 1952 at Deep River Logging Company. From 1953 to 1979 he worked through the United States Civil Service first as a fireman and later as a power plant engineer.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and do-it-yourself projects. He was proud of the fact that he added two bedrooms and a kitchen to one house and built several woodsheds, a garage, and a shop.

Mr. Hall is survived by son Michael Allen Hall of Squaw Valley, Calif.; Carol Ann Hauxhurst and husband Rick of Long Beach; Jeanette Isbelle and husband Roy of Orofino, Idaho; granddaughters: Anna Ormsby and husband David of Seattle, Natalie Kinman and husband Dan of Arizona, Kasandra Lofling of Long Beach; grandson Andrew Hall of Seattle; and great-grandchildren Doug and Amber Ormsby. He was preceded in death by his wife Lula Mae Hall and parents.

A graveside service will be held at Ilwaco Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
