OYSTERVILLE - Marvin Lester Reeder, 64, of Oysterville, died June 9, 2006, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1942, in Tacoma, to Harry and Lucille Reeder. At an early age, the family moved to Sunnyside, where he attended school.

In 1960 he join the U.S. Army. After completing his military service, he moved to St Helens, Ore., then to Seattle. He married Patricia Johnson in June 1984 in Renton. They moved to Oysterville in 1990.

A quite man, he was a handyman, landscaper and gardener. He loved cooking, chili and navy beans were his specialty.

He is survived by his wife Pat; sons, Richard Reeder of Long Beach, Michael Reeder of Covington, Joseph Reeder of Port Angeles, Daniel Reeder of Port Orchard and Robert Reeder of Ocean Park; daughters Pam McHaffey of Auburn and Sandy Gonzales of Spokane; stepchildren Mary Pace and Everett Pace of Ocean Park; brother Calvin Reeder of Maple Valley and sister Nadine Reeder of Renton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.

A gathering of family and friends will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Pacific Crematory at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea Long Beach.
