OCEAN PARK, LONG BEACH and NASELLE – The Masonic Lodge in Ilwaco challenges students in the Ocean Beach and the Naselle-Grays River Valley school districts to read books throughout the school year. After reading each book the students filled out an entry slip. Drawings were recently held to award a bike to the top reading boy and girl.

Winners in Naselle were fifth grader, Emeri Wilson, and seventh grader, Jake Clark, pictured left with Dick and Alice Rodlin. Those winning from Ocean Park Elementary were Alisa Bower (not pictured), sixth grade, and Reese Tynkila, a fourth grader, pictured center with Dick Rodlin. Alisa graciously gave her bike to fifth grader Alicia Baker. Winners in Long Beach were Arianna Bell, fourth grade and Trent Ramsey, sixth grade, pictured right with school librarian, Margaret Norelius.

A garden and yard sale fundraiser is being held beginning at 10 a.m., on June 25, in the lot across from the Ocean Park branch of the Bank of the Pacific. All proceeds go to the Bikes for Books program.
