COLUMBIA RIVER - Three Washington men are safe after their boat was struck by a wave and capsized near the South Jetty early Thursday afternoon, said Bob Coster, civilian search and rescue controller at U.S. Coast Guard Group Astoria.

The men swam to the jetty after their 18-foot pleasure craft sank. There they stayed until a passing boater reported them to the Coast Guard at 12:22 p.m.
