NASELLE - At Naselle-Grays River Valley Elementary School, one can expect to see some self-confident fifth graders. As a challenge from their teacher, Mrs. Emo, they interviewed someone who went to school in a foreign country. In many cases, the student had never met the interviewee before.

Students decided on what they wanted to know about schools in other countries and they independently found someone to interview. As a final challenge, students decided how to report their findings to the class.

The students found several ways to report the information. Several students made beautiful posters and many typed their information. One student made a PowerPoint presentation. Several students included information off the Internet in their reports. Countries represented included China, Germany, the Philippines, Japan, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Canada, Finland, Russia, Holland, and Guam.
