2011 NASELLE High School Graduation

Nicole Tarabochia and Nathan Reitz (AT LEFT) spend their final minutes before graduation laughing with their fellow classmates Saturday afternoon.

NASELLE – “Unicorns, ligers,  Sasquatch, circus carnies, Frankenstein monsters — and the Naselle class of 2011. All a bit freakish,” began NHS teacher Rob Dalton as he addressed the graduating class last Saturday.

The Naselle High School Class of 2011 marched into Lyle Patterson Gymnasium June 11, as the school band played “Pomp and Circumstance” under the direction of Dave King. Salutatorian Haleigh See gave the welcome address and Dalton was the faculty speaker.

Valedictorian Taylor Wasmundt gave the valedictorian address and then Cody Cooley sang “For Good” with accompaniment from Nancy Austin. Nathan Reitz was the class speaker and following the address the always popular and poignant senior slide show produced by Patrick Anderson, Reitz, See, and Nicole Tarabochia was shown. Each graduate thanked for their parents.

Counselor Justin Laine presented scholarships along with Principal Karen Wirkkala and Assistant Principal Jon Tienhaara. The Naselle band performed and then diplomas were presented by Superintendent Rick Pass and the board of directors. Wirkkala presented the graduated class and Chase Chapman initiated the moving of tassels.
