OLYMPIA - The Naselle Team A finished first overall on Friday, Jan. 14, when the school's Knowledge Bowl teams traveled to Olympia for an ESD 113 southwest regional tournament.

Naselle Team A is consisted of Doug Wise, Carl Fredrickson, Eli Williams, Sarah Dotson and Katie Klinger. The win clinched the team's 6th consecutive ESD 113 regular season competition by defeating teams from Ocosta and Hoquiam.

In the final round, Naselle Team A trailed by two points with three questions remaining. The Naselle team answered all three of the remaining questions to take first place in an exciting fashion.

Also competing from Naselle were the Naselle Grene Toemaytohs and Naselle Anonymous. In all, eight teams from single-A schools, 16 teams from double-A schools, and 19 teams from class B schools participated in this knowledge bowl meet.

Naselle Grene Toemaytohs members are: Stephanie Wise, Caitlin McGuire, Jenny Klinger, Erin Saari and Sandra Rodriguez. The Naselle Grene Toemaytohs placed 15th overall and seventh among class B teams.

Naselle Anonymous is made up by: Kevin Schei, Lindsay Smith and Brad Erickson. Naselle Anonymous placed 25th overall and 10th among all class B teams.

The Naselle teams will compete in an ESD 113 regional tournament in Centralia during February to determine which team will qualify for state competition at Camas High School during March.
