PACIFIC NORTHWEST - Timothy Garber has been selected to lead the Pacific Harbors Council Boy Scouts of America, as scout executive.

"Garber's role is essentially the chief executive officer of the council staff for delivery of scouting programs and services in the eight counties of our service area in southwest Washington," said Council President Jimmy Collins. "We are primarily a volunteer led youth services organization and Tim ensures that we make the most effective use of the programs provided by the National Council." Collins is the volunteer leader for the Pacific Harbors Council.

In 2008 the Pacific Harbors Council Boy Scouts of America served more than 18,000 young men and women were served in Pierce, Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Pacific, South King Counties and South Jefferson counties.

Garber's prior assignments include the past five years as the scout executive/ chief executive officer for the Trails West Council. Garber scheduled began his new responsibilities on Jan. 6.
