OYSTERVILLE - Regional author/historian Sydney Stevens will read from her latest release "Dear Medora: Child of Oysterville's Forgotten Years" on Saturday, Aug. 4 in Oysterville.

In the setting where Medora Espy grew up 100 years ago, Stevens will read excerpts from the remarkable collection of letters upon which the book is based and will talk about her family, the Espys, from an insider's point of view. All are welcome to this special, free book signing/garden party.

"Sydney is a local treasure - a member of a pioneering family, and an extremely talented author/historian. This garden party should be lively and fun," said Gayle Borchard of Independent Books who is coordinating the event. "The garden party will be a great way to enjoy Sydney's talent as well as the Espy grounds, and to absorb the feeling of a by-gone era. It will also be a fun-filled opportunity to obtain an inscribed and signed copy of the latest addition to your personal collection of regional books."

Dear Medora's Garden Party will be held at the Espy home in Oysterville (the white house across from the church) on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. Cookies and beverages will be served. This is a rain or shine event - the party will migrate indoors should it be necessary.
