DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE

Case No(s): 06-0045LB (Pacific County Department of Public Works, Sandridge Road Culvert & Tidegate Replacement Project)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Pacific County Department of Public Works has filed an application for a Shoreline Management Substantial Development Permit to improve the operating condition of an existing 60-inich diameter culvert that crosses Sandridge road by (1) installation of a fish passable tide gate on the downstream end of the culvert, and (2) stabilization of the up and downstream slopes at the culvert ends by the installation of concrete blocks.

The project is located at milepost 12.41 on Sandridge Road approximately 400 feet south of Bay Avenue on the Long Beach Peninsula, and is located in Section 11, Township 12 North, Range 11 West, W.M. Pacific County, Washington.

Lead Agency: Pacific County Department of Community Development. The lead agency for this proposal has determined that the project does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public on request. This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340(2). A final Determination of Non-Significance will be issued by Pacific County after the conclusion of the public hearing.

According to the guidelines contained within Section 24.7 of the Pacific County Shoreline Master Program, Pacific County Ordinance 147 and Pacific County Ordinance 145, the initial hearing scheduled for June 5, 2006 has been continued until 2:00 p.m. on July 24th at the Pacific Transit Building located at 2750 Pacific Highway in Seaview, Washington. PLEASE NOTE THE HEARING LOCATION CHANGE. At this hearing, the Pacific County Hearing's Examiner will consider the Shorelines Substantial Development Permit, the Critical Areas and Resource Lands consistency determination, and SEPA determination confirmation.
