OCEAN PARK - The North Peninsula Improvement Association (NPIA) is a non-profit corporation organized for the benefit of our community. Since our organization in 1999, efforts have been effective with results leading to substantial improvements in flood control and planning.

With the assistance of Pacific County Sheriff John Didion, we initiated a program to rid our community of junk cars and accumulations of trash. Deputized personnel of the Pacific County Department of Community Development have cleared more than 1,500 junk vehicles since the initiation of the program.

NPIA Director R.D. Williams has led efforts to establish an Ocean Park Beach to Bay Trail. The project was delayed several times, but his persistence prevailed. The state of Washington has recently issued a notice of intent to begin construction of the Ocean Park Beach to Bay Trail.

Membership in the NPIA is open to all owners of property on the Peninsula north of Cranberry Road. Our annual meeting and election of directors will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Ocean Park Fire Station. All voting participants must be NPIA members. Annual dues of $6 will be accepted prior to the election.

The public is always welcome at our meetings. Please call Tom Morrow, NPIA president, at 665-5858 if you have any questions or suggestions.
