LONG BEACH - Ocean Park resident Ethel H. Starheim, 72, died Feb. 16, 2007, in Long Beach. The daughter of John and Katie (Kline) Jones, she was born Nov. 5, 1934, in North Dakota. She grew up on the family farm and remembered climbing out a second story window onto a snowdrift at her home during a particularly severe winter storm. When she was in her early teens the family moved to Issaquah where she graduated from high school.

She worked for Boeing Aircraft and owned an Italian restaurant in west Seattle. She and Arne Starheim were married Oct. 6, 1956.
