NAHCOTTA - Gary L. Jenkins, 51, died Nov. 7, 2007, at his Nahcotta residence following a valiant battle with cancer. Born Dec. 8, 1955, in Longview, he was the son of Fred and Helen (Kalahan) Jenkins. His first years were spent in Napavine, where he attended school. In 1965 he moved with his family to Ocean Park and attended Ilwaco High School.

Mr. Jenkins was a hard worker and his efforts were directed toward his career working in various aspects of the oyster industry in Nahcotta. Following his father's death several years ago he was also his mother's caretaker until her death.

He enjoyed reading, especially Louis L'Amour novels. He also enjoyed watching cooking shows on television, socializing with his many friends and particularly enjoyed long walks with his beloved canine companion Molly.

He never married.
