PORTLAND - Irma O. Lynch, 84, died Oct. 26, 2010, in Portland. She was born March 9, 1926, in Seattle to Rheba and Louis Osmer.

Her family considered her the anchor of her family, who had the strength that held them together through good times and bad. She gave unconditionally and without hesitation. The door to her home was always open, there were no outcasts. All wanderers were made welcome, all hungry mouths fed, and weary eyes given rest. There was always room for one more at the Lynch Base Camp. She was an active member of her community wherever she lived, a caring friend, a mother to all.

She and Willard H. Lynch married in 1952. Survivors include her children, Lynda, Patricia, David, Sharon, Amy and MaryLisa; and grandchildren, Tom, Katie, Matt, Danny, Jonny, Ellen, Erik, Jane, David, Megan, Sara and Ethan. Her husband Willard Henry, her children Molly Ann, Daniel Louis and James Martin and grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua preceded her in death.

Services were held on Oct. 30 at St. Mary in Seaview. Arrangements were by Hustad in Portland.
