Obituaries: Leona Beth Pasko

ILWACO - Long Beach resident Leona B. Pasko, 65, died in Ilwaco on Dec. 4, 2009, following a short illness. Born in Olympia on Sept. 20, 1944, she was the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Sanders) VanCampen.

She grew up in the Seaside area where she attended local schools and graduated from Clark College in Vancouver with an associate degree in business administration.

On Oct. 4, 1963, she married Richard Pasko. They established their home in Portland and she became a wife, mother and homemaker. She and her husband resided in Washougal for 16 years and in Vancouver for 15 years prior to moving to Long Beach two years ago.

Mrs. Pasko enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading and gardening. By moving to the Peninsula she came full circle in her life, returning to her earlier years living along the seashore.

Besides her husband of 46 years, survivors include a son, Richard Pasko II of Rochester; daughters, Rebecca Pettigrew of Vancouver and Cathy Caro of Forest Grove, Ore.; a brother, Walter F. VanCampen of Tillamook, Ore.; a sister, Ida Campbell of Mount Vernon; and grandchildren, Sarah, Jameson and Kelin Pasko, Thomas and Camille Caro, and Elizabeth Pettigrew. Her parents and a brother, Patrick VanCampen, preceded her in death.
