CATHLAMET - Leona Doumit Boyer, 89, of Cathlamet died Dec. 27, 2006. The daughter of John and Helen (Antone) Doumit, she was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Cathlamet.

She was raised in Cathlamet and received a teaching degree from the University of Washington. She taught briefly in Colfax where she met Max Boyer, whom she married on Dec. 8, 1941. She spent many years traveling with her husband while he was in the U.S. Air Force. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Dielman of Port Orchard; two sisters, Marian Peterson of Seaside, Ore., and Helen Marie Wampler of Fresno, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Patricia Doumit; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
